Think about the last project that went sideways. Nothing exploded – a brief was vague, a handoff dropped, someone waited on someone, and it ran two weeks and a few thousand over. No crisis, just a leak. And the same leak opens again next month, because everyone’s too busy fixing it to fix it properly.
The studio works because you remember everything: the status of every project, who’s overloaded, what the client was promised, which invoice hasn’t gone out. That’s not a system. That’s you, as a single point of failure.
So I replace “you remembering” with things that run on their own – how work moves from sold to shipped, who owns what at each step, and how money flows so you see margin per job instead of guessing. Not a 90-page manual nobody reads. Light systems the team actually uses.

Will this mean new software?
As little as possible. Most studios already own more tools than they use. I’d rather fix how you work than sell you another subscription.
How disruptive is it?
Done right, barely. We change how a few things flow, not everything at once. The studio keeps shipping the whole time.
What about the finance side?
Covered – not bookkeeping, but the visibility: margin per project, what’s owed, what’s coming, so you’re not flying blind.
Who keeps the systems running after you've gone?
Your team, by design. If a system needs me to survive, I’ve built it wrong. The handover names the people who’ll own each part, not just the process on paper.
