Privacy policy

One form, on the contact page. Fill it in and I receive your first name, last name, email address and message. That is the entire list. No newsletter, no account, no tracking pixel, no advertising.

I use it to reply, and if we work together, to carry on the conversation. I do not sell it, share it for marketing, or add you to a list you did not ask to join.

Two, and both are strictly necessary for the site to function:

• statamic-session — keeps your session alive between page loads.
• XSRF-TOKEN — stops another site submitting the contact form on your behalf.

Neither identifies you and neither follows you anywhere. There are no analytics cookies at all, which is why you have not been asked to accept anything.

The contact form is protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks a submission came from a person rather than a script. Loading the contact page means your browser talks to Cloudflare, and they receive technical information about that request including your IP address. It happens on that page and nowhere else.

Cloudflare also sits in front of this site as a network provider, so the same applies to ordinary page requests. Cloudflare publishes its own privacy notice.

Enquiries are kept so I can find the thread again if you come back. Ones that went nowhere are deleted once they are plainly cold — I do not keep a permanent archive of people who once emailed me.

Where we do work together, I keep what the engagement and my accounting obligations require, and nothing beyond that.

Under UK data protection law you can ask me to show you what I hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it. Ask through the contact form and I will do it. There is no process to go through and no fee.

If you think I have handled your data badly you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. I would rather you told me first, so I get the chance to put it right.

This site is run by Alex Halchenko, based in London. I am the only person who reads what comes through the form — there is no team, no shared inbox and no CRM syncing it somewhere else.

For anything about your data, use the contact form and say so in the message.

If this changes, the date beside it changes. For a page this short there is no version history worth keeping.
